On the 10th of April 2016 we ran our club social event being lunch at Peel Island. The weather was beautiful and we had 16 boats attend with approximately 32 Adults and 16 Children. The boats were spead over about a 150m section of the beach in horseshoe bay with many of the Children being either on the beach and or in Mum & Dads boat catching bream. The catch rate was up there with lots of bream of varying sizes being landed but all were kissed and released,
The young angler on the beach in the pictures below was Julie West’s grandson – he did very well with a helping hand from Dad.
The BBQ lunch went well, it was a bit of a slow cook session with the number of Members wanting to utilise the BBQ in cooking up a storm but all were happy.
Andrea Bowden tried her hand at Paddle Boarding and went well but was unable to stand. She also had an issue with being unable to crossover arms so backhand paddling was the way to go. (see the photo’s below).
Special thanks to Brett Seng for providing a feed of mudcrab which was well accepted by all on the beach in close proximity to the shade structure and BBQ set up.
It was great to see there were several new Members in attendance and we believe they all enjoyed themselves this being their first RBC Event, with all commenting, “we’ll be back”!
Thanks to all the members who attended and we hope to see you at our next event being Dinner at the Little Ship Club on May 14th.
